LHRIC earns SOC 2 certificate following year-long audit
The Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC) successfully completed a Data Privacy and Security Service Organization Control (SOC) Report. Recognition of this success is demonstrated by the display of the SOC 2 Logo.
A SOC Report is an independent audit by certified public accountants and members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. SOC standards are rigorous and recognized world-wide across all types of privacy and security sensitive industries, including financial services and heath care. In the last 10 months the LHRIC has reviewed and successfully implemented over 160 privacy and security controls across LHRIC systems and personnel. Some of those controls are identified in the Data Privacy Notice link on the LHRIC Homepage. For further details describing SOC see: https://www.aicpa.org/topic/audit-assurance/audit-and-assurance-greater-than-soc-2
The LHRIC is among the few educational institutions in the United States to have completed a SOC Report. The successful completion of the report furthers the long standing commitment districts in the Lower Hudson Region have to protecting their data under the management of their RIC.
